Car looks flawless, though it can't be for that price I would think. $2,250 bucks for a 2000 5-series? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! NPOCP?

Autotragic, nearly 200k, probably smallest engine offered. I wouldn't pay more than that.
Edit: Didn't see that was km rather than miles...

Maybe their spouse hates the car, forcing them to sell it. Or it could be a younger person who's parents refuse to allow their child to be in such a car.

Seems slightly low for the mileage but maybe they want it gone? The E39 is great, NP (!!) if it checks out in PPI even if there are $1k worth of issues.

maybe it's a deceased estate or divorce liquidation?

200k KMs is about 120k miles, that's when expensive cooling system parts start needing replaced. Check it out but look for white residue under the hood.

Pre face lift e39 528i with 120k mi and possible unknown problems..... doesn't sound too odd.

"possible unknown problems" = they dumped a bottle of marvel mystery oil in the crankcase to hide catastrophic engine noise and are hoping with an automatic you won't push it hard

The market is so low on these right now. You can find good late 540s with the manual trans for under 5 grand.
I'd take a look at that one if you're in the market. I've had 4 e39s and they've all been good until about 200k,
